Sri Lanka: SLAF bombs civilian settlements in Vanni, one youth injured, 13 houses damaged

Civilian settlements in Puthukkudiyiruppu and Kilinochchi in Vanni on Monday came under aerial attack of Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF). Local sources said the attacks that were carried out in five sorties that left 13 houses damaged. The first attack was made in Puthukkudiyiruppu between 5:00 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. while the second attack was carried out by three SLAF bombers from 5:30 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. in Jeyanthinakar, a suburb of Kilinochchi town, damaging seven houses.
An 18-year-old youth was wounded in the Jeyanthinakar attack who was identified as identified as M. Pathmanathan, sources said. Local people said the SLAF fighters bombed a civilian settlement located along Paranthan Puthukkudiyiruppu Road in Puthukkudiyiruppu two times.
Besides dwelling houses, there are four schools and a hospital in Puthukkudiyiruppu. The explosion shook the hospital, sources said. A reconnaissance Beechcraft was seen hovering in the sky of Vanni on Sunday and Monday, according to local sources.
