A bomb explosion was head near the Douglas Devananda, minister for social welfare’s residential office in Colombo 5 area in Sri Lanka on Wednesday. "There is an explosion near Devanada's residence. No details are available," an officer of the elite police Special Task Force said, asking not to be named in line with policy.
Meanwhile, another report says, the bomb blast killed one of his staff members and critically injured two more security staff. The island's defense secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapakse, told a news agency that his forces were now going all out to kill Prabhakaran and recapture the north of the country. The five decades old conflict, which has at least 80,000 people dead, has escalated since 2005 and at least 5, 800 people have been killed in the escalation of violence.
