The Sri Lanka’s main Opposition United National Party (UNP) does not believe that parliament members belonging to the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) are Tamil Tigers. Party’s additional national organizer and Kalutara District MP Sarath Ranawaka said UNP will not accept the allegations that the parliamentarians are Tamil Tigers.

He said TNA parliamentarians voted against the budget because they took the decision as the budget did not do anything for the Tamils.

He said the ruling government is trying to brand the TNA, UNP and JVP as traitors of Sri Lanka and the government leaders are trying to show them as real patriots of the country.

The UNP leader said Buddhist monks who are in politics are trying their best to grab lands by using their political influence although it is against the real spirit of Buddhist religion.

He said that the ruling government agents asked him to join the government but he turned down their offer.

Ranawaka further said no one could buy him with money because he is real UNPer and he won’t join the government until the present parliament is dissolved.
