Sri Lanka: Bomb explosion in Colombo suburb, 16 killed, 37 wounded

A big explosion has been reported in front of a clothing emporium, No Limit, at Nugegoda, a shopping suburb of Sri Lanka's capital Colombo, Wednesday around 6:00 p.m. Sixteen persons were killed and 37 wounded have been rushed to Kalubowila hospital, according to the police. The bomb was placed inside a three-wheeler, police said. However, according to another version by the police, there was a human-bomb female attacker who blew herself up when stopped at the security post. Eyewitnesses said it was a huge explosion with smoke and fire, causing damage to the building.

Five casualties, among them one policeman and a young school girl, were brought to Colombo hospital.

Most of the victims rushed to hospitals have sustained severe burn injuries, medical sources said.

The explosion has taken place near the Bo tree junction.

Nugegoda, located 8 km southeast of Colombo city, is situated in Mirihana police division.

This explosion shows real picture about the LTTE. In the Mahaveer day the Leader said that they are not targeting innocent civilians and only targeting the militaries. After one day this turend in to other way round. This is how the LTTE react in the peace perocess also. Government need to get help from all international communities to eradicate the LTTE from world. Roaring tiger with sharp nails and teeth, two guns with rounnded bullets ( LTTE logo ) shows the attitude of LTTE. They are really blood thirstiest.
