Sri Lanka: Manmohan Singh will be Chief Guest at Independence Day celebrations

COLOMBO (SNM) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be the Chief Guest at Sri Lanka-s 60th Independence Day celebrations to be held in Colombo early next year, the country-s Foreign Ministry said in a statement today. The visit, amid serious security concerns, is aimed at "showing India's total support of Sri Lanka in all her endowers," a Colombo daily reported today.

Recent government reports showed that during 2007, India, which refuses to publicly supply Sri Lanka with offensive military items, had loaned the latter US$100 million for the specific purpose of buying military equipments.

India also offers training to hundreds of Sri Lankan military personal every year.

Tamil militants, including the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were trained and armed by India during the 70s and 80s. India is also home to more than 70million Tamils.

Indian leadership is bunch of fools. They should see that how rajapakse has hardened his position with respect to peace and seeking military solutions. LTTE leadership sounds more accomodating. Whole Lankan leadership, never sound re-concilliatory, and are seeming like more racist.
There is some sense in alienation of Tamil people, but indian leaders are not clever enough. Jaywardene tricked Rajiv gandhi in sending IPKF and now manmohoan singh, stooge of sonia gandhi is doing his part of comedy.
Lanka should see from India how india has been trying to break barriers with pakistan, by dialogue and friendhip and trust and not alienating people.
Rajapakse and his team has lot to learn otherwise Lanka is set for disastor they will repent later.

Tamils are very cunning people and great liers. Cheating is their inbuilt quality. Exploiting and robbing other nations have been their main income sorce for last thousends of years. Almost all the Sri Lankan Tamils living in western countries as asylem seekers are good exsample of that. (Believe you me, I know lot of them, who simply misuse the social benifits of Europien countries)

Tamils are very good servants when they are powerless (that's why British rulers liked them and given good opertunities over Singhalees in Sri Lanka) and worse when the have even little bit of power. Tamils are racists to the top level. If there is a Tamil heading any organization, that organization never display the ethnic balance of that perticular country. There is lot of favoritism there. If there is a small Tamil botique in the vicinity, the Tamils by any thing there only and never by any thing in any other stores. This could be a result of being a minority for long time in all the countries, but is does not justify their case.

What they can do is, use the chance of exporsure to the world and learn to live in harmony with other comunities.
