SINGAPORE (SNM) -- Douglas Devananda was injured in a bomb attack deep inside his Colombo camp on Wednesday morning, despite claims by the Sri Lanka Police that the paramilitary leader escaped unscathed. A Tamil nurse working at a top private hospital in Singapore told media that she had seen the paramilitary leader receiving treatment for abdominal injuries.
The nurse said that she identified the bearded figure from Tamil media footage. Meanwhile, the EPDP admitted that Devanda's late stepfather-cum-secretary Stephan was killed in the explosion. Two other senior EPDP gunmen, including one Niyas Sithran were seriously injured.
Sri Lanka Police reported that a female who carried out the bombing also died in the explosion.
