The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian, Sivajilingam, said in parliament on Tuesday that it is Tamils only who can be truly loyal to the neighbouring India, and India should keep this in mind. While delivering speech during debate on budget, Mr. Sivajilingam said Tamils will always stand as great wall to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India.

“How many Tamil-speaking Hindus, Muslims and Christians are sent abroad to work by the Sri Lankan government?”, he posed a question, saying, “Thousands of people are trained by the Sri Lankan government before they are sent abroad to work but no Tamil-speaking people are selected from North and East.

He said Sri Lankan hegemony governments are trying to Sinhalize the entire island through systematic discrimination even after 30 years of bitter experience with the minorities. As a result of being victims of continuous discrimination, the Tamils took up arms to fight the hegemony governments.

The TNA MP said Pakistan was prevented from taking part in the Commonwealth meet because Pakistan declared state of emergency. Sri Lanka has also imposed state of emergency and the international community will soon ban Sri Lanka too.

“Why does it take long time to isolate Sri Lanka?”, he questioned pointing to the international community.

He bitterly criticised Colombo governments for showing indifferent attitude to address the problems of the Tamils.

“Is it the policy of the governments to remain blind when Tamils are being subjected to torture, kidnap and killings every moment in the Sri Lankan army controlled areas in North and East”, he wanted to know.

The TNA parliament member said Sinhala governments will never put forward peace package as it has no intention to resolve the ethnic problem in a peaceful manner.

He said international community including the U.S, India and China should extend support to the struggle of Tamils in Sri Lanka because the Sinhala governments killed over 80,000 Tamils so far through violence.

The TNA MP said the birth of Tamil Eelam is a reality and only a matter of time.
