Local people said that Kfir jets dropped about 15 bombs during 20-munite attack beginning at 12.25 p.m. razed many dwelling houses to the ground.

The aerial attack also caused damage to Gandhi Children Home, where children orphaned by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) offensives have been sheltered, and Aroganam Children’s home maintained by Christian missionaries.
