Canada has decided to deport a former Sri Lankan police officer who sought asylum here because of "his complicity in crimes against humanity committed against a civilian population in Sri Lanka". Authorities here say that the individual concerned, Mr Kasturiarachchi, was part of a force that has committed "systematic" and "widespread" abuses "on a regular ongoing basis".
Kasturiarachchi served in the Sri Lanka police for 25 years. He moved to Canada after retiring from the police post. According to Canadian officials, Sri Lankan police is involved in grave human rights abuses and uses of torture as an investigative technique. The shift in Canada's approach comes as human rights groups are reporting mounting abuses by the Sri Lankan security forces, such as disappearances, torture and the killing of journalists and foreign aid workers. Sri Lankan MP M.K. Eelaventhan, a member of the Tamil National Alliance who recently visited Canada, blamed the security forces for abduction, killings and disappearances. "Disappearance is now becoming a normal feature. I will call it a normality. When a person disappears and doesn't appear for three days, you can safely say that he is among the dead." | Well done Canada, if other countries respect Human Rights they must come forward to take strong actions against the Sri Lankan war criminals. |
| I am not surprised if these LTTE terrorists asked for a seperate part in Canada too in few years... By that time Canada will be too late.... |
| Well, when will they deport the LTTE who have committed war crimes against the innocent people be deported? The LTTE also killed innocent Sinhala people and also the tamil people as well. |
|
I have only one question for all the LTTE supporters posting here, What was the Sinhala poplation in the north (LTTE controlles areas) before 1983 and what is it now ..? What is the Tamil population in the south (Govrnment controlled areas) befor 1983 and what is it now... ? |

Kaffir Eric Rajapakse's Optical firm is still running very succesfully on hospital road. The singhala cattler keeper delivers milk to some tamils in Jaffna.Just a few for your interest. One of them said,he hides from the army so that he will not be arrested and tortured to make him a spy for them. Have you forgotten the thousands of army personal roaming around in Jafnna. The army personal will overrun the civilian population soon. Is this the intent.? |
