Sri Lanka: 2 SLA soldiers killed, 17 injured in Mannaar clashes

In three separate incidents in the North, at least 17 Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troopers have been injured and two killed Sunday and Monday, according to reports received from Mannaar Operations Command of the LTTE.

No casualties among LTTE cadres were reported. In a separate incident, at least 11 soldiers were injured when LTTE cadres launched an attack Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m.on a sentry point located between Mu'l'liku'lam and Vizhaaththiku'lam in Mannaar.

In another attack on SLA troopers involved in patrolling the area between Parappankandal-Uyilangku'lam, LTTE fighters launched Monday a sniper attack during which an SLA soldier was killed while six soldiers received injuries when LTTE fighters fired artillery shells towards the same place.
