Sri Lanka: Sri Lankan Police shoots dead Up-Country Tamil

A 25-year-old Tamil youth was shot dead and another injured when Sri Lankan police opened fire as they had failed to stop their three-wheeler at a checkpost in Balagolla, located 19 km southeast of Kandy in the Central Province, Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. The victim has been identified as Dinesh Kumar of Balagolla, according to the Police.

Police sources added that the injured, Ramasamy Ramaraj, 28, was immediately rushed to the Kandy hospital.
