Sri Lanka: Police arrest suspects in three-wheeler driver killing

Akkaraippattu police arrested Friday afternoon three suspects alleged to have been involved in the killing of a Muslim person, the driver of a three-wheeler beaten to death Thursday night at Periyavaaykkaal in Aalangku'lam, a Tamil area in Akkaraippattu police division. All three suspects involved in the killing of Akbar Miller, 27, are Muslim youths, Police said.
These three persons had hired Aqbar Miller for a three-wheeler trip Thursday night and when the victim failed to return home the relatives while searching for him discovered his three wheeler and his body in a canal in Aalangku’lam Friday morning.
Akkaraippattu police have commenced investigations into this killing and the suspects would be produced before Akkaraippattu Courts after investigations, Police said.
