The parties to the Sri Lanka conflict, the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), are in the process of finalizing a joint press statement. The Norwegian facilitators are said to be working hard to complete the formulation of the Joint statement, informed sources said.

The sources further added that the Tigers had gifted the books "War and Peace in Sri Lanka," authored by LTTEs Political Strategist Mr. Anton Balasingham and "The Will to Freedom," authored by Ms. Adele Balasingham to each member of the GoSL delegation. The GoSL delegation members received the copies with interest, the sources said.

The joint press statement is expected to be announced soon.
