World: Britain Warns Its Nationals To Avoid Visiting North-East

British Commonwealth Office has warned British nationals to refrain from visiting North-East of Sri Lanka, as the situation there is not conducive for peaceful travelling. Political violence in those areas and the present political climate accompanied by the local government election meetings, demonstrations and rallies also contribute to the volatile situation, the Commonwealth Office has pointed out. The British nationals have been advised, for their own safety,  The British nationals have been advised, for their own safety, to register their whereabouts with the High Commission in Colombo.
