Addressing the State Assembly,he said the news that the Sri Lankan Tamils were getting killed every day grieved every one in Tamil Nadu. That this Assembly observed silence, mourned the deaths of the orphans killed by the Sri Lankan security forces and passed a resolution condemning the Sri Lankan government without any division in the House is ample proof that entire Tamil Nadu stands together in its support to Sri Lankan Tamils in their hour of distress. Chief Minister further stated that the Sri Lankan government has objected to the resolution of the Tamil Nadu Assembly. If it is wrong for a Tamil to express solidarity with another Tamil in times of distress, then they would happily continue expressing solidarity. He continued that the Sri Lankan government has denied the report and maintained that they bombed an LTTE camp. But there are photographs that depicted children dying and dead at the scene of bombing. There are adequate documents to prove us. Therefore the version of the Sri Lankan government is unaccepatable, he said. He further assured that if Tamils are harassed by the Sri Lankan Navy in the sea, while they travel to Tamil Nadu seeking refuge, his government would consider taking necessary steps to provide security to the refuges. | Is there any truth other than the truth as seen by the GOSL? The Central Government also needs to follow the human example of Tamil Nadu. |
