Dr.Ramadas stated this in an interview with the Press Trust of India. He added that in the civil war between the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE, about five hundred thousand Tamils are very badly affected and they face serious problems including non- availability of food and other essential commodities. The people of Tamil Nadu cannot be in- sensitive to the sufferings of Sri Lankan Tamils. While congratulating Dr.Karunanithy, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for his statements and efforts in this matter, he told that his party and people of Tamil Nadu welcome the efforts by the Indian Central government to resolve the Sri Lankan Tamil problem through negotiations but insisted that any solution that India recommends must not only be acceptable to the Sri Lankan Tamils but also meet their legitimate aspiration. Finally, Dr.Ramadas reiterated that if any settlement is brokered on the initiates of the Central Government, India must guarantee the implementation of the terms of the settlement by the Sri Lankan government. | Sitting in a chair and delivering speach is easy. we have to think and act something practical. My opinion is that like the politician are going to abroad for the development of any nation, to send them to war zone to get the feeling of the soldiers. The soldiers die because of nation and the politician mostly die because of high choloestrol, heart attack and syndromes. |
