It is everybody's knowledge that the economic downturn and the slump in prosperity of Srilanka is entirely the doing of the Srilankan government. They have themselves to blame for the rise in their defence expenditure because it is what they want for their personal benefits.

Strange! at the SAARC, Rajapakse also shed crocodile tears and stand with the other countries pretending to march towards peace, prosperity and co-operation. Obviously, he has no shame whatsoever for everyone in the SAARC is well aware that his government is the biggest state terrorist and that it is his government which is mainly responsible for the mass murders of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, the abduction of Tamils, rapes of Tamil women, plunder of Tamils' belongings, destruction of properties and the displacement of the Tamil population.

What is intriguing is the SAARC is also pretending not to see the attrocities the GoSL has committed and continues to commit. Instead of indirectly voicing their concern and condemnation over the attrocities of the Srilankan government on the Tamils, the SAARC should directly, openly and firmly condemn the regime.

Again, it is also obvious Rajapakse is used to such condemnation and is too thick skinned soas not to pay attention to the scathing hints made by leaders on the behaviour of his government. - jay

Well said, Mr. Manmohan that the countries are incapable of finding political solutions to their problems; instead opt for military strategies making the situation worse. Everyone is aware that such remarks are aimed primarily at the Srilankan President and GoSL. But ironically, these leaders to whom such remarks are directed dont possess the wisdom, capacity and political maturity to understand such remarks. They dont have the attributes of problem solving and diplomacy as can be seen by their animalstic behaviour in breaking pledges, promises & agreements they made and signed. And being morons, they only know one thing and that is to resort to jungle tactics (even animals dont go on rampage killing unless they become mad or affected by diseases) to resolve issues, which everyone knows will never succeed.

Perhaps Mr. Manmohan, you need to provide some seats in your reform institutions to give them some basic education on mannerism and behaviour rather than provide military and finacial aid to these leaders. - jay
