As can be seen, the moves towards justice and fair play are not seen as favouring the singhalese and therefore the singhalese is interested in parties who can tow their line of deceit and treachery. The move is commendable in that the All Party Representatives’ Group of the British House of Commons have included all the involved parties of conflict as well as Norway, the earlier peace brokers who are well versed with the subject due to their long participation in the peace efforts and the CFA. The present Srilankan government discards the agreements signed between the government and the tamils duly witnessed by the international community and discusses the conflict among themselves, draft a proposal among themselves and wants to implement by themselves. There is no participation of the affected party, the tamils or their representatives, even the main singhalese opposition parties have not participated in discussions and voiced their opinions aginst the proposals. The proposal totally rejected by all quarters and all sectors and this is the one, the government submits to the Indian PM. Idiotic and Stupid!!! In a direct settlement of a conflict where both parties are unable to find common ground, is it not the proper way to bring in a neutral third party to help find a mutually acceptable solution. Is it not this way how a proper justice system works. Therefore the parties in conflict should always appreciate people who initiate moves to bring about a honourable peaceful settlement and such moves must be given a chance to work. But the Srilankan government thinks the opposite. With their attrocities and crimes against humanity have surfaced openly and have drawn harsh criticism from all quarters and everybody is well aware of the hoodwinking tactics of the Srilankan government, the leadership wants to move away from people with noble efforts to bring about a peaceful settlement. - Jay Wed, 09 May 2007 08:26:17 +0100
