The atrocities committed by the SLA, the Police and the government supported militia men has earned bitterness, hatred, and distrust of the Tamil people which has led to the Tamils having no trust on the government who had also through their propagandas and actions made the Singhalese and the Tamils filled with hatred towards one another. The root causes are discrimination and denial of rights of the Tamils by the successive Singhalese governments. The people who are affected are the minority Tamils. The only way to achieve peace is to revive the CFA and through it, a credible devolution package for the people in the North and East and let them decide their destiny for themselves.
