<description>It is a shame that the international community took so long to get to the truth of Sri Lankan government’s agenda of ethnic cleansing of the Tamils in the North and East. An ordinary man on the street will be able to assess the situation in one look at the devastation that has taken place. Even now the government is not bothered of what the IC thinks because it believes that whatever the situation, the IC, especially the US, China and India will continue to provide military hardware and other forms of aid as these countries have to dump their unwanted weapons.
The Senchcholai massacre killing 61 girls two staff members and injuring 129 girls done by repeated rounds of bombing by the k-fir jets carried out by the Sri Lankan Air Force is one good example of the well planned act of ethnic cleansing. In spite of the screaming and desperate calls of the girls for help, the Air Force turned a deaf ear and repeatedly bombed the school and its surrounding areas hampering the rescue efforts. The result - Many died on the spot, many were wounded, most had multiple injuries, some lost there their limbs some had severe burns. The worst thing in this incident is the behaviour of the government. The leadership nor the armed forces never showed a bit of remorse but instead proclaimed as `precise and well targeted’. srAirforc which is one of many incidents of “Shame’ for Sri Lanka.
To say it has taken such a long time for the International community to realize the Sri Lankan government is only interested in racism and military approach instead of negotiations for a political solution is indeed a poor reflection of the leaders of the International community.
